We would like to extend a big "Thank you !" to all of our clients and patrons who helped make this our most successful tax season ever.

CREATIVE SOLUTIONS TO

CROSS BORDER TAX ISSUES

Click here for a direct link to a recent article concerning our pioneering activities in Tax research published in:The Globe.

Quote of the Week:

When one of our new clients asked a competing firm "What is the essential difference between you and the Serbinski firm?", the immediate answer was

"We take an aggressive position, but the Serbinski firm does it legally".......

Our philosophy is to plan creative solutions to income tax issues, but always to do so in compliance with the laws of each country our client operates in. We beleive that our clients cannot win by exposing themselves to unsustainable tax situations which are likely to come back to haunt them. Apparently, our new client agrees.

Mark Serbinski - on CBC Evening News:

Mark Serbinski appeared live on CBC Moneyline, and later on the CBC Evening news in relation to the Canadian bank merger between the Royal Bank and the Bank of Montreal - to discuss international tax implications for business.

This article deals with our philosophy of distributing tax information and links to other professionals on a free of charge basis through this site and our Web Forum shared with the law office of Joseph C. Grasmick, and CNC Global Resources. In essence, we don't believe in holding back vital information which could be of use to our clients and readers.

In the same issue of the Globe and Mail, Canada's national newspaper, Jeff Buckstein showed how our competitors deal with the Internet........

...Says Jeff Buckstein (Special to the Globe and Mail)

"Though many taxation specialists are setting up Web sites to plug their services, use of the Net as an interactive forum for tax questions and answers has yet to catch on. Although most of the Big Six accounting firms offer extensive on line taxation resources -- tax tips, newsletters and bulletins about Canadian personal and corporate taxation and the names of specialists within their firms --

they don't yet offer customers the kind of on-line dialogue that Serbinski Partners' site does."

The article goes on to quote a KPMG director......

"Gordon Braun-Woodbury, director of communications at KPMG, says the firm doesn't offer tax advice on-line because its business is "helping taxpayers and investors solve very complex tax problems""....

Tom McCallum, a certified general accountant, according to the article, is:

"concerned about a number of issues, including the time it would take to keep up with requests."
